"Wish You Were Here" Guitar Solo
Hi fam,
I’m happy to share this video with you. This time we are taking a look at the intro guitar solo from the Pink Floyd song “Wish You Were Here”. As usual, we have the jam track and TAB for you here on this page.
This one can be quite the workout for you fretting hand. That’s because of all the bending on the acoustic guitar. Of course, you don’t have to play this on an acoustic, an electric guitar will work just fine too.
If you’ve been wondering how to better use major and minor pentatonic scales over chord progressions, this is a great solo to add to your practice routine. I’ve noted which scales and chord shapes I’m thinking about over each lick in the video. Take it one lick at a time to get the notes down, and then work it up to speed with a metronome.
Of course the final stage will be playing it along to the jam track. Speaking of the jam track, it’s just a loop of the guitar solo chord progression that repeats over and over again.
Give it a go, and let us know about any questions or famous guitar solo video suggestions you may have.
Later,
Nate
