"Tears in Heaven"
It is with great pleasure that we bring you the cover song lesson for “Tears in Heaven” by Eric Clapton. This one was more challenging than anticipated. That’s most likely why I avoided it for the past few years. :) As usual, we have the video, TAB, and jam track for you on this page.
The arrangement in this video is based on the unplugged version of this song. There are two main acoustic guitar parts in the original recording. I took the most important parts from each guitar track and mashed them together. This gives us a single guitar part that anyone can use to play a convincing version of this song by themselves.
The video is quite long because there are a lot of pretty detailed parts, and the song is a bit longer than the standard pop tune in general. The original guitar parts were fairly inconsistent, so I ended up standardizing some of the passages to make learning and memorizing the song easier and faster for you.
I’ve also included the guitar solo and full performance at the end of the video for you. Give it a shot, and let us know if you have any questions or progress updates as you move forward.
Thanks for watching,
Nate
