Hi fam,

Here is the next episode of The Improv Loop for you to check out. This time we are talking about how to start using "Reactive Playing" in your solos.

Sometimes a chord progression can be too fast to think every single note you are playing over each chord change. Reactive playing is when you use a scale and your ear to chose the notes you play as the chords fly by.

The main idea presented here is to use a major pentatonic scale to make some really cool music and just let your ear be your guide. The video has some practical tips to help you get started with this.

To help us learn how to do this, we will use a chord progression similar to the one found in the Bob Marley song “No Woman No Cry”. You can use your looper to program in a similar progression or download the jam track we created for you.

Have fun, and send us any questions that may come up as you go through this.

Nate

Are you sure this pattern goes with the track ? It really sound way off. I don't get it.... Or do you have to use a different pattern?
