There are many tools you can use to take your strumming from boring to fun and dynamic. One of my favorite techniques for this is the muted strum. It can add a drum-like quality to your strumming patterns and make things more interesting.
Give yourself 2-3 weeks to get the basic technique down. Once you are comfortable with it, it’s a good idea to apply it to a song right away. “Proud Mary” is a great song for this.
If you need some extra help, you can schedule a 1-on-1 private video lesson with me here. The first one is complimentary. It’s also a good idea to create your complimentary Guitar Fam account. That will give you access to the first module of all our premium courses.
