Welcome to the third episode of the "How Do You Work This Thing?!" mini-course. One of the most confusing categories of gear that most guitar players deal with is guitar pedals. This is particularly true for drive pedals. I think that's because there are so many variations and options out there nowadays.
In this video, Chelsea and I address the differences between overdrive, distortion, and fuzz pedals. This will help you decide which type of pedal you might want to use for the styles of music that you like.
Once you've decided what type of drive pedal suits you best, you have to figure out how to use it to get the tones you want out of your rig. This can be challenging if you are new to the tone game, but we will give you some tips for setting up your drive pedals to sound great. We also have some recommendations for you if you have yet to buy a drive pedal.
If you have any questions, you can drop us an email at support@guitarfam.com. Also, feel free to schedule a private lesson with me if you need help with your rig or anything else related to playing guitar. The first lesson is complimentary, so book it today!
Love this! Though I mostly play clean, I been looking to get into into peddles but haven't really yet. Been solely focusing on my guitar studies as well but this series may be just what I needed to get me going with it all so I thank you that!!. :-)
I've really enjoyed this series and learned a lot. For now, I'm going to wait on pedals and just get to know my guitar and amp better. But this information is GREAT to have in my back pocket for future use! Thanks again, Nate & Chelsea!
