“Be Thou My Vision” - Guitar Instrumental by Nate Savage

Hey fam,

Do you ever get discouraged at how long it takes to learn a very challenging new song? Well, I've been working on a new song for the past 3.5 months, so I know how frustrating it can be to get down one of your "white whale" songs.

The tune is an instrumental cover of the hymn "Be Thou My Vision". Chelsea and I played it for a gig back in November, and I was reminded of how much I loved the chord progression and melody. That made me want to do an instrumental version of it.

This has been pretty much the only thing I've been working on in my personal practice time for the past 3.5 months. I had a lot of fun arranging and recording it. It really is a testament to how learning or writing songs can help you progress in a very focused way.

The next time you are frustrated with how long it is taking you to learn a song, just remember this. It takes most people quite a bit longer to learn a song than they initially estimate.

Thanks for watching,

Nate

Wow, yeah so I'm loving this! I think your next instrumental album you do, Nate, should be a worship one. This is SO good! Thanks for blessing us with it.
